Nexperia partners with Tata Electronics on semiconductor manufacturing in India

The partnership, according to a press release from the companies, will see Nexperia's MOSFET portfolio produced at Tata Electronics' upcoming 300mm fab in Dholera, Gujarat, while assembly and test of Nexperia's discrete semiconductor products will take place at the company's packaging facility in Jagiroad, Assam. Tata Electronics is investing a combined USD 14 billion across both sites, which it describes as India's first commercial semiconductor fab and first indigenous assembly and test facility.

The deal is the latest in a series of manufacturing partnerships Nexperia has announced outside China. In May, the company signed a similar agreement with US-based Polar Semiconductor for the production of power MOSFETs in Minnesota – a move that comes as Nexperia's European leadership works to rebuild supply continuity following the Dutch government's intervention in October 2025 and an ongoing CNY 8 billion lawsuit filed by Chinese parent Wingtech.

The partnership also covers technology development and research cooperation, combining Nexperia's expertise in discrete, power, and analog semiconductors with Tata Electronics' manufacturing capabilities.

For Tata Electronics, the deal marks a further step in its ambition to position India as a globally competitive semiconductor hub.
