Scanfil grows 32% as aerospace and defence revenue triples
Scanfil grew its third-quarter revenue by 32% to EUR 252.2 million. Acquisitions accounted for 21% of the increase, while organic growth accelerated to 8.5%. Aerospace and defence was the fastest-growing customer segment, with revenue more than tripling to EUR 30.9 million.
Comparable EBITA rose 26% to EUR 17.8 million, but the margin slipped to 7.1% from 7.4% a year earlier, according to Scanfil’s quarterly report. The decline was mainly in APAC and Northern Europe. In APAC, Scanfil points to costs for new product introductions and lower activity at its SRX factories, and expects the margin to improve in the fourth quarter.
“The operating environment remained challenging, as component availability required increased focus and dedication. During the quarter, Scanfil was very active to secure component availability and strengthen partnerships with customers and suppliers,” says CEO Christophe Sut.
Growth was strongest in the Americas (+74%) and Central Europe (+57%), driven by the acquisitions of ADCO Circuits in the US and MB Elettronica in Italy. Together, the two acquisitions added EUR 112 million to revenue in the first nine months. Revenue in APAC grew 26% and in Northern Europe 2%. Sut credits the acquired companies with strengthening Scanfil’s position in aerospace and defence in particular.
During the quarter, Scanfil won new customer projects worth around EUR 48 million, bringing the total for the first nine months to around EUR 172 million. Following those wins, the company is expanding its factory in Myslowice, Poland, where the new facilities are expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2028. Its factory in Suzhou, China, is also being expanded.
Scanfil maintains its 2026 outlook of revenue between EUR 940 million and EUR 1,060 million and comparable EBITA between EUR 64 million and EUR 78 million.
