Kitron to build new factory in Denmark
Kitron plans to build a new 8,850 square-metre factory for its Danish operations in Horsens, replacing its current site in the same city. Construction is expected to begin in January 2027, with the facility ready for operation in early 2028.
The investment is driven by expected growth from new and existing customers in demand for localised production with strong industrialisation capabilities, according to a press release from Kitron. The company will own the new facility, which is designed to improve efficiency and workflow compared to the current site.
The new factory is intended to support growth in industry, connectivity and other regulated, high-reliability areas. With the new factory, Kitron also expects its workforce to grow from approximately 150 employees today to around 250 when the factory is fully utilised.
“The investment is a long-term commitment to Denmark and a clear signal that strong local capability will drive our growth in the Industry, Connectivity and other regulated, high reliability areas,” says Peter Nilsson, Kitron's President and CEO.
The Danish investment comes just days after Kitron inaugurated a new production facility in Longum outside Arendal in Norway, as Evertiq reported last week. Growth in defence and aerospace is the primary driver behind Kitron's ongoing expansion – the company raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to EUR 1,050–1,150 million in late August.
