Flextronics plans to construct a plant in Russia

Sources told evertiq EMS provider Flextronics plans to build a new plant in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The city’s department for economic development said that Flextronics is currently negotiating the possibility to construct a plant in St. Petersburg. The plant is expected to produce TVs, monitors, PCs and laptops, according to Cnews. The investment in the plant is worth $ 50 million. Analysts predict that Flextronics will have difficulties in Russia. Ploblems that the company may face is the import of components and customs barriers, and the sharp rise of wages and bureaucratic difficulties, Cnews reports.
