Sony Ericsson result up, good<br>news for the supply-chain

Sony Ericsson posted a profit before tax of 501 million euros during Q4 07 . Even though the profitability was stronger the profit did fall. Net profit did decrease with 17% to 373 million euros. During this period company’s sales was 3, 8 billion euros. The weak growth is explained by a stronger focus by Ericsson in the low end segment. Even the price pressure made an impact. Volume growth was 18% during the quarter. During the quarter 30,8 million handsets were sold. In 2007 Sony Ericsson sells over 100 million handsets. In the third quarter sales increased by 31%.
