BYD to enter Hungary, Romania & India
BYD will build plant in Hungary, Romania and India despite Foxconn complaints.
BYD has for a while been in battle with EMS provider Foxconn. Despite facing complaints from Foxconn, BYD Electronic will continue its expansion projects by building plants in India, Hungary and Romania.
According to company sources BYD Electronics plans to invest US$50 million each in China and India. The investment in Hungary and Romania will reach US$10 million and US$30 million, respectively. The plants in Hungary and Romania are slated for mass production in the second quarter, while the plants in China and India will start operating in the first quarter of 2008. The Foxconn-BYD lawsuit is still pending at the Beijing High People's Court.
