Deca-BDE RoHS exemption on EU council's desk
Exemption from EU's RoHS directive for the flame retardant Deca-BDE now awaits council approval.
On a Commission proposed vote on 19th of April a majority of the EU member states voted in favour to exempt the flame retardant Deca-BDE from the RoHS directive. Though the required qualified majority of 72.3% to be adopted immediately were not reached so the proposal has now been sent to the EU Council of Ministers. They have a maximum of three months to come out with a decision.
