German PCB Market on Top
The revenue of the printed circuit board industry in Germany reached in April the highest level for five years, reports the VdL and ZVEI – the German electrical engineering and electronic engineering industry association.
Compared to the previous month the revenue per working day increased about five percent. Only because of bank holidays the industry gained an absolute level nine percent lower than in the previous month. Cumulated the first four months achieved a higher result than in the same period of time of the very good previous year. Revenue was therefore higher than in the last six years before.
Orders also reached in April a higher level than in the last the six years before. Compared with March 2007 orders increased about twelve percent and compared to April 2006 orders were ten percent higher.
Because of the high order intensity book-to-bill ratio reached a value of 1.05. The good business condition had also a positive effect on employment. Compared to the previous year month the number of employees increased 1.6 percent which is the highest level for five years.
