Mikron buys licensce from<br>ST to make EEPROMs
Russian semiconductor company, Mikron of Zelenograd has bought a licence from STMicroelectronics to make EEPROM memories.
“Mikron will build a copy of ST's Roussset facility capable of running 1,500 to 2,000 wafers a month using 0.18micron technology," Sergei Orlov, of the Russian high-tech trading company Electronintorg, told Electronics Weekly.
ST confirmed that there was a technology transfer agreement between ST and Mikron but the spokesperson did not want to discuss the matter any further.
