Repic is concerned about WEEE compliance in UK
UK recycling body Repic warns the UK electronics industry for not taking the WEEE directive seriously.
Thousands of UK manufacturers need to act to ensure they comply with WEEE rules on recycling electrical waste, due to come into force next summer and the recycling body is concerned.
“Companies need to be taking appropriate action now," said Dr Philip Morton, chief executive of Repic.
“Over the next few months there are critical milestones that need to be met and a very short time window during which companies can register," said Morton.
