Wistron to make Magellan GPS devices

Wistron, one of the top four Taiwan-based OEM makers of notebook PCs, has landed an ODM order from US-based Magellan Navigation (originally named Thales Navigation) to manufacture the eXplorist series outdoor GPS portable navigation devices (PNDs) at a low quotation. DigiTimes sources said that Magellan may eventually stop its existing OEM partnership with Taiwan-based Kinpo Electronics since it has no R&D capability for GPS PNDs.
