Loyalty important for chipmakers

- Product innovation has long been seen as the key to winning in the semiconductor industry. But a new survey, out Wednesday, says that chipmakers should also be focused on something beyond cramming circuits into silicon: customer loyalty.
Only 29% of semiconductor buyers consider themselves loyal customers, according to Walker Information, a research and consultancy based in Indianapolis that evaluated 53 chip companies based on 1,500 responses from a mix of hardware and software engineers, executives and product managers.
