Universal Robotic co-founder steps down

In a LinkedIn video, Esben Østergaard, co-founder and CTO of Universal Robots A/S, announced that he is leaving the company to pursue other things within the world of technology.

“Today is a very special day for me; it was the last day I was working at Universal Robots,” he starts in the video that was posted on March 29, 2019. Esben founded the company some 14 years ago as a garage project, which today is kind of hard to believe when looking at the scale of it. As most of you might remember, Universal Robots was acquired by Teradyne in a USD 350 million deal back in 2015. And since then the scale of the operation has continued to grow. “It has of course been a defining part of my life. But at some point, you also have to say that if you want to try something new in life, maybe now is the right time for me, and I’ve decided to step out of Universal Robots and pursue other things.”
