Nikola closes on 400-acre property, will bring 2000 jobs to AZ

Nikola Motor Company has purchased approximately 400 acres of property in Coolidge, Arizona for the construction of a new facility. The plant will produce the company’s hydrogen-electric class 8 trucks and bring an expected 2,000 jobs to the region by 2024.

The announcement was made by Nikola and Saint Holdings, an investor in the project. In a press release, Nikola CEO Trevor Milton said, “When we set out to build a factory, part of my vision was to help an entire community. By completing the deal with Saint Holdings, we can now begin to realize that dream. Imagine what it will do for property values, schools, parks, and other city improvements. Bringing 2,000 jobs and thousands more from other suppliers will be a huge benefit to Coolidge and the surrounding areas for decades to come.” Established in Phoenix in 2014, Nikola Corporation designs and manufactures hydrogen-electric vehicles, electric vehicle drivetrains, vehicle components, energy storage systems, and hydrogen stations and specializes in semi-trucks. The company is hosting a Public Demo Day on April 19 in Scottsdale that will feature demonstration drives of the Nikola Two truck and demonstration rides in the Nikola NZT OHV.
