Slight improvement in result for Mentor, Magma

Mentor Graphics posted earnings of $15.8 million($13.0 million) on sales of $214.9 million($201.9 million) in its fourth 2004 fiscal quarter. Magma Design Automation posted a net loss of $0.7 million($3.8 million) on sales of $37.3 million($31.1 million) in its third 2005 fiscal quarter ended December. The company forecasts sales to top off at $39 million to $42 million for fourth fiscal 2005 quarter ending March, with earnings from 0 to 4 cents per share.
