Steca Elektronik GmbH gets a new owner

Munich-based investment company AL-KO GmbH will acquire a majority stake in EMS provider Steca Elektronik as of 1 January 1 2017.

Steca will form a separate business unit within the AL-KO Group in addition to the existing segments of air and climate technology, garden technology and vehicle technology. Steca currently has about 700 employees at its locations in Memmingen and Bulgaria, the company generates an annual turnover of around EUR 70 million. According to Peter Voigtsberger, Managing Partner of Steca Elektronik GmbH, the acqusition will enable the company to continue planned developments and investments aimed at strengthening the company’s position as a partner within the areas of electronics services and solar electronics. Management will continue with the new company and Peter Voigtsberger will shoulder the responsibilities for finance, his brother Michael Voigtsberger will head the areas of solar electronics and development. EMS and production are headed by Dr. Gerald Katzler, who previously worked for Osram as a plant manager.
