Global PCB market continues growth

German ZVEI and VdL has compiled statistics over the global PCB market for the last couple of years. According to the latest report from ZVEI and VdL the global PCB market is still growing. Asia Pacific is the outstanding largest market with its expected value of $14.8 million in 2006 growing 13 percent from 2005. Europe and US will according to the report grow to reach 5.85 and $10.2 billion respectively.

According to ZVEI and VdL Europe will this year grow by 3.5 percent while US is expected to grow by 2.5 percent. The global PCB market is expected to grow by 6.4 percent to reach a value of $41 billion this year. Europe´s 379 manufacturers employs about 25 735 people. However the production in Europe continues its declining trend. Only 2.75 billion euro is from European manufactured PCBs. Germany is the very largest market in Europe. Germany holds 36.2 percent of the European market with its 90 companies manufacturing PCBs worth approximately 981 million euros. Italy, Great Britain, Austria and France are following behind Germany as the largest PCB markets in Europe with market values of 281-, 278-, 260- and 240 million euros.
