Apple confirms: Tattoos are an issue for the Apple Watch

Last week reports about tattoos causing possible reading problems for the Apple Watch flooded the web. And now, the American tech-giant goes out with a comment.

On its support site for the Apple Watch the company states a number of reasons of why one might get a bad reading from the watch's heart-rate sensor. And now the company has included tattoos to the list. “Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings,” the company states in the support document.
