HTC invests heavily in wireless charging technology for vehicles

Chinese smartphone maker HTC is going to invest heavily in wireless charging technology for vehicles.

The 240 million dollar investment into wireless charging technology for vehicles would be followed by an even bigger investment next year, accordning to Reuters citing executive sources. According to the newspaper, ZTE's director of corporate strategy, George Sun, also announced that the company has signed an agreement covering 20 chinese cities to provide wireless charging technology for public transportation. China, struggling with severe polution issues, would certainly benefit from a push into the field of electric vehicles. The chinese governement has been making efforts in recent years to support development in this particular field. ZTE has also – according to Reuters – talked to both domestic and foreign car makers about a possible collaboration on wireless charging technology for vehicles.
