Nokia in talks with Lava about its Chennai plant

The two companies are apparently in discussions about a possible take over/acquisition of the plant. And if a deal is struck, it could mean that thousands of former employees at the plant will be able to reapply for work. Lava's manufacturing team has already done an assessment of the plant, and will make a proposal to Nokia sometime in mid-December, according to a report in the Indian paper Economic Times, citing people familiar with the discussions.
