TT electronics-IMS opens in Timisoara, Romania

Many customers are planning for the future and seeking regional low cost manufacturing locations in closer proximity to their regional European operations. By establishing an Eastern European presence, TT electronics-IMS adds one more level of risk mitigation to its European manufacturing model while "directly responding to its customers' global and regional manufacturing and supply chain needs", a press release reads. “Our new Timisoara facility coupled with our existing manufacturing capabilities in the UK, USA and China not only expands our global footprint, but provides an enhanced value offering to customers needing a lower total cost European solution,” said John Molloy, Divisional Chief Executive for TT electronics-IMS. The new 50,000 square foot facility plans for a production ramp-up in April 2014.
