Teleste signs large network deal

Finland based telecom equipment maker Teleste has signed a frame agreement with a major cable operator in the Western Europe.
The agreement covers upgrading the operator's coaxial access network and is intended to increase both upstream and downstream capacity to further support the roll out of broadband Internet and digital TV services.

Through this agreement, Teleste will supply the range of AC products and becomes one of the operator's key suppliers. The total project duration is 3 years and the value of the agreement is estimated at 11.5 million euros. The start of the deliveries is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2006 and the main portion of the contract deliveries will take place during 2007.
