Salcomp strengthens its LED know-how

"In 2012, we made a strategic decision to expand our offering to LED drivers. Our target is to become an established provider for LED lighting industry which is a fast growing business. To achieve this target, we have enhanced our LED competence by dedicating a team to R&D in LED drivers operating in our office in Taipei. We have also reinforced the team with a senior resource. The new team is working together with our existing LED team in Finland," says Markku Hangasjärvi, Salcomp’s President and CEO. At the moment, four product platforms for LED drivers are available in Salcomp’s product range, specified and developed by the company, and a number of new LED products are under development. First customer delivery During the autumn, Salcomp has delivered the first LED drivers to a European LED lightning manufacturer. "One of our strategic targets is to diversify our customer base outside mobile phone manufacturers. The first LED driver delivery is an important step on this path," says Markku Hangasjärvi.
