Flextronics to help lucky eight

Earlier this year, Flextronics established the Lab IX accelerator program to support early stage disruptive technology companies incorporating hardware and software innovation.

Now, just a few months after establishment, some 67 companies have already applied for entry to the program. And for a lot of new startups this is exactly what's been missing – they have the idea/product but not the funds to get it off the drawing board. Out of the 67 companies that have applied, a lucky eight companies have been selected (so far) for the Lab IX program. Flextronics will invest roughly USD 500'000 in each company – provide office and manufacturing space – as well as business support in terms of how to protect intellectual property, according to a report in National Defense Magazine.
