Samsung to invest USD 1.7 billion in Kunshan operations
Samsung plans to expand its operations in Kunshan, located west of Shanghai.
The investment aims to expand Samsung's presence in China and will be used to construct workshops, set up research institutes and purchase equipment. The research will be operated by Samsung Electro-Mechanics CS., to aid a chip carrier project, states a Reuters report.
Samsung’s manufacturing network includes roughly 250 supplier factories in China.
