Suss Microtec buys Tamarack Scientific

Suss MicroTec announced that they have purchased 100% of Tamarack’s shares for a total price of US 9.34 million. The company said in a press release that, with the purchase, it will pursue a “consolidation strategy in the semiconductor backend equipment industry by complementing its exposure technology portfolio with projection lithography”. Tamarack Scientific develops, manufactures and distributes UV projection lithography systems as well as laser micro-structuring tools for the Advanced Packaging, 3D Integration, MEMS and LED markets. In the current fiscal year ending on April 30, 2012, Tamarack Scientific expects to generate sales of approximately € 10 million.
