Kitron’s growth broadens beyond defence

Kitron grew its third-quarter revenue by 59% to EUR 266.8 million. Defence and aerospace still led the increase, but the other market sectors also grew, with electrification standing out in particular.

Operating profit (EBIT) rose 73% to EUR 25.2 million, and the EBIT margin improved to 9.5% from 8.7% a year earlier, according to a press release from Kitron. That puts the company above its strategic target of an EBIT margin of more than 9%. Profit after tax came to EUR 17.4 million, up from EUR 9.1 million.

“This was a quarter where the shape of our growth changed. Over the past year, Defence & Aerospace has led the way. In the third quarter, growth was broader. Electrification is where the change is clearest. We will enter 2027 on a broader base than we started 2026 with,” says Peter Nilsson, CEO of Kitron.

The order backlog reached a record EUR 843.3 million, up 41% from a year earlier. According to Kitron, this reflects demand across all market sectors.

For 2026, Kitron maintains its outlook of revenue between EUR 1,050 million and EUR 1,150 million and EBIT between EUR 97 million and EUR 112 million. The company raised the outlook back in August.
