Ukraine’s DevDroid seeks manufacturing partner in Inission Norway

Inission Norway has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ukrainian defence company DevDroid. The two companies will explore cooperation in the manufacturing of electronics and remote control systems for unmanned ground vehicles.

DevDroid develops robotic platforms and control systems for unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), with applications including reconnaissance, logistics and fire support. Its platforms can be fitted with different modules and control systems. The company is behind DroidBox, a control solution for UGVs used in Ukraine, according to a press release from Inission.

“DevDroid brings valuable battlefield experience, while Inission Norway contributes expertise in electronics manufacturing, industrialisation and production. Together, we see opportunities to develop and manufacture solutions for both the Ukrainian and international markets,” says Erik Dragset, Managing Director of Inission Norway.

The agreement is a memorandum of understanding, not a manufacturing contract. The companies will now look at the practical requirements for developing and producing the systems together.

“With Inission Norway, we gain a partner with experience across the entire manufacturing process, from electronics manufacturing to assembly. Together, we can combine our knowledge of ground robotics with Inission’s manufacturing expertise to develop reliable solutions,” says Yurii Poritskyi, CEO of DevDroid.

The press release does not specify volumes or a timeline.
