Hyundai Motor Group plans $15.5 billion investment in India
The seven-year investment spans manufacturing expansion, R&D infrastructure development, local supplier cultivation for parts localization and future technology innovation.
Hyundai Motor Group has announced a comprehensive investment strategy for India, committing USD 15.5 billion from 2026 through 2032.
The seven-year investment spans manufacturing expansion, R&D infrastructure development, local supplier cultivation for parts localization and future technology innovation, Hyundai Motor Group said in a press release.
To effectively execute this large-scale investment initiative, the group will establish a dedicated investment entity in India. The entity will coordinate and execute investments across R&D infrastructure, future technologies and the broader automotive industry ecosystem. Additionally, it will serve as a platform to identify local partners, support strategic partnerships and foster collaboration with local suppliers.

This investment reaffirms our commitment to India for the next 30 years and beyond,” Euisun Chung, Executive Chair, Hyundai Motor Group. “Through this investment, we will create more employment opportunities and work together with our partners and stakeholders to support India’s continued industrial development.”
Hyundai Motor Group employs more than 24,000 people across India. This comprehensive investment is expected to create employment across manufacturing, R&D, engineering, and supply chain sectors. Beyond direct job creation at Hyundai Motor Group facilities, the investment will stimulate employment across the broader automotive ecosystem through supplier partnerships, technology development and emerging mobility ventures, the group said.
