Gaon Cable signs $150M busducts contract with US AI data center
With this contract, LSCUS, the US subsidiary of South Korean company Gaon Cable, has added AI cloud providers to its existing customer base of big tech and generative AI companies.
South Korea’s Gaon Cable has signed a large-scale busduct supply contract with a US AI cloud provider as it ramps up business in the North American AI data center market.
The company said its US subsidiary, LSCUS, will supply KRW 200 billion (USD 150 million) worth of busducts to an AI cloud data center project in the US, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2027.
With this contract, LSCUS has now added AI cloud providers to its existing customer base of big tech and generative AI companies.
The company said it is also in discussions for additional projects that are two to three times larger, raising expectations that supply volume will continue to expand in the future.
The current project includes a 250 MW-class AI data center.
“With AI data centers becoming larger and more highly integrated, the importance of power distribution infrastructure is growing significantly,” said Jeong Hyun, CEO of Gaon Cable. “By drawing on our comprehensive portfolio encompassing both busducts and MV cables, we will further expand our business in the North American AI data center market.”
