North American PCB shipments up 23.5% in August as orders pull back
North American PCB shipments rose 23.5% YoY in August, extending this year's growth. New bookings, however, fell sharply after a strong July.
Compared with July, shipments increased by 5.2%, and year-to-date shipments were up 15.5% on the same period last year, according to a press release from the Global Electronics Association, which reports figures from its North American PCB Statistical Program.
Bookings moved in the opposite direction. They were down 35.0% compared with August last year and 78.1% compared with July. Year-to-date bookings nevertheless remain 38.7% higher than in the same period of 2025.
"PCB shipments continued to strengthen in August, though the month also brought a pullback in new orders following July's surge. The results this month likely represent a quick pause after several months of strong order flow," says Shawn DuBravac, chief economist at the Global Electronics Association.
