Mareike Haass – Europe's top 100 EMS companies unveiled
Analytics firm in4ma is publishing its first dedicated ranking of Europe's 100 largest EMS companies, built on a new database with figures going back to 2020. Around 85% of all data was sourced directly from national company registers and from the companies themselves. The ranking will be presented at Evertiq Expo Gothenburg on September 17 by Dr. Mareike Haass.
The 100 companies in the ranking operate a combined 394 legal entities across Europe and account for 71.6% of total European EMS revenues. Concentration at the top is significant: fourteen companies alone account for close to half of all European EMS revenues, according to the report.
The TOP 100 as a whole recorded a revenue decline of 1.1% in 2025 – but that figure conceals two very different markets. 18 of the 100 companies generate more than 40% of their revenues from automotive, and that group fell by 8.1% as a result of the prolonged difficulties facing the European car industry. The remaining 82 companies grew by 1.0%. Automotive dependence, rather than a weak EMS market, accounts for almost the entire decline.
The six-year view from 2020 to 2025 shows how strongly acquisitions have reshaped the market. The same group of companies that today operates 394 legal entities ran only 309 in 2020. The TOP 100's share of total European EMS revenues has risen from 64.8% to 71.6% over the period.
A comparison with large international players is striking: 18 international EMS companies with 62 legal entities generated nearly the same revenues in 2025 as 82 European EMS companies with 332 legal entities.
