EMA, FlowCAD acquisitions expand Cadence’s PCB design portfolio
By integrating EMA and FlowCAD technology into the Cadence ecosystem, the company is building on a collaboration that spans over 20 years. Deeper integration with Allegro X and OrCAD X platforms will enable scalable library and data management capabilities.
Cadence has expanded its electronic system design portfolio through the acquisition of long-time channel partners EMA Design Automation and FlowCAD, boosting its PCB design capabilities and increasing access to electronic component data for engineers worldwide.
“EMA Design Automation and FlowCAD have been valued partners that have sold and supported our software for over 20 years,” Cadence said. “This acquisition reinforces our commitment to delivering enhanced products, services, and technology to our customers worldwide.”
As part of this acquisition Cadence is integrating the EMA and FlowCAD technology and team into its organization, while continuing to support existing customers with uninterrupted access to services and support, the company said.
“Deeper integration with the Allegro X and OrCAD X platforms will enable scalable library and data management capabilities—making it easier to find, validate, and integrate the components you need directly within your design environment,” Cadence said.
EMA also brings strong partnerships with component manufacturers and distributors across the electronics supply chain. Many of these partners already rely on Cadence solutions to develop ICs and systems. With the addition of Ultra Librarian, Cadence said it is expanding the value to that ecosystem by helping ensure engineers have seamless access to trusted, up-to-date component data throughout the design process.
