NEURA Robotics and SECO partner to scale humanoid robot production in Europe

German humanoid robotics company NEURA Robotics and Italian embedded computing specialist SECO have announced a strategic partnership to industrialise and scale Physical AI from Europe. SECO will design, engineer and manufacture electronic compute modules for NEURA's cognitive robots, including the humanoid 4NE1, integrating Qualcomm Dragonwing processors.

The collaboration brings together three complementary capabilities: NEURA's Physical AI and robotics architecture, Qualcomm Technologies' edge computing platforms and SECO's embedded engineering and manufacturing expertise, according to a press release from the companies.

NEURA's robots are built around a Brain + Nervous System architecture. Through its Smart Limbs concept, sensing and compute are distributed throughout the robot rather than centralised, bringing intelligence closer to joints and sensors where real-time decisions are needed. SECO's role is to engineer and industrialise the compute modules that bring Qualcomm's Dragonwing processors into this architecture at production scale.

Beyond the compute modules, the two companies are working on joint data collection from industrial deployments to develop Physical AI automation solutions specifically for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing — with the aim of making those capabilities deployable globally.

"Physical AI will not be built by one company alone. It requires an ecosystem across sensing, compute, cloud and industrialization. Together we will use real industrial processes to generate data and develop Physical AI solutions for semiconductor manufacturing that can ultimately be deployed anywhere in the world," said David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics.

The partnership also includes plans for a NEURA Gym in Italy – the company's first training hub in Southern Europe.
