Indichem inaugurates semiconductor materials plant in Gongju

Acutaas Chemicals Limited, an Indian manufacturer of specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical intermediates, has announced that Indichem, its step-down subsidiary in South Korea, has inaugurated its semiconductor chemicals manufacturing plant at Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, according to a press release. 

The plant makes ultra-high-purity chemicals that go into the semiconductor supply chain. These are niche materials requiring parts-per-billion purity, demanding deep technical expertise and rigorous quality control, Acutaas said in a post on LinkedIn.

“By combining India’s core strengths in complex chemical synthesis with Korea’s expertise in ultra-high-purity refining, we have built a synergistic model that neither company could have executed alone,” said Naresh Patel, Chairman & Managing Director, Acutaas Chemicals Limited. “This marks a vital step in scaling our semiconductor materials business into a long-term growth engine for Acutaas.”

Indichem is a South Korean company incorporated in 2025 as a joint venture between Acutaas Advance Material Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Acutaas Chemicals Limited (India), and J & Materials Co., Ltd. (South Korea). Under the joint venture agreement signed on 27 June 2025, AAML holds 75% of Indichem’s share capital and J & Materials holds the remaining 25%.
