CACI opens defence electronics manufacturing facility in Rochester, New York

CACI International has opened a 61,000-square-foot Manufacturing Centre of Excellence for Defence Electronics in the Greater Rochester area in New York, in the United States. The facility increases CACI's manufacturing space by more than 300% and will serve as the primary production hub for the company's electronic warfare technologies.

The facility supports production, delivery, training, customer acceptance testing and onsite storage for CACI's Terrestrial Layer System Brigade Combat Team Manpack programme – an electronic warfare system for dismounted soldiers enabling operations in the electromagnetic battlespace. The programme is contracted with the US Army, according to a press release from the company.

CACI describes the Rochester location as a deliberate choice, citing the region's engineering talent base and manufacturing capabilities. The facility is designed with room for expansion, with CACI intending to scale production of additional software-defined electronic warfare capabilities from the site.

"Demand for advanced electronic warfare technology is surging, and Rochester gives us the capacity to deliver for our customers today while preparing for tomorrow," said Tom Kirkland, Executive Vice President of Electronic Warfare at CACI.

The production programme also supports dozens of small business suppliers across Upstate New York.
