Airbus Helicopters and Terma deepen partnership on Danish defence

Danish defence technology company Terma and Airbus Helicopters have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand their industrial partnership. The agreement covers advanced manufacturing, electronic warfare system integration, research and development, and maintenance, repair and overhaul services.

The MoU identifies four areas of collaboration: advanced manufacturing of composite and metal parts, integration of Terma's Electronic Warfare Systems, research and technology development, and MRO services, according to a press release from the companies.

A central element of the agreement is the focus on localised MRO capability for the Danish Armed Forces, delivered through the newly established joint venture between Terma and Norwegian Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services, KAMS. The Nordic joint venture is intended to function as a sovereign industrial maintenance hub, ensuring Denmark builds a self-reliant domestic support ecosystem for helicopters.

"Combining Airbus's global reach with our specialised technologies and sovereign MRO infrastructure positions us to deliver unprecedented autonomy, technical capability, and sustainable industrial growth for Denmark and European security," said Oscar Cosman Brøndum, Vice President for Partnerships & Industrial Cooperation at Terma.
