Terma and Danube Cell Manufacturing sign MoU on battery development and testing

Danish defence and aerospace company Terma and Austrian battery manufacturer Danube Cell Manufacturing have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint opportunities in battery development, testing and validation. The collaboration targets aerospace and defence applications.

The partnership combines Terma's expertise in advanced electronics, software and battery testing with Danube Cell Manufacturing's capabilities in custom battery cell development and manufacturing. The goal is to help customers move more efficiently from early concepts to validated, application-ready battery solutions, according to a press release from the companies.

"Battery technologies are developing quickly, but their performance, safety, and reliability must be validated under demanding, application-specific conditions. By combining Terma's testing technology with DCM's battery cell expertise, engineered and manufactured in Europe, we aim to help customers move more efficiently from early development to validated solutions," said Mats Warstedt, Senior Vice President, Space, at Terma.

No financial terms were disclosed.
