Lohia partners with Massivit, to invest up to $10M in manufacturing unit
The investment will support an ongoing expansion of the company’s manufacturing infrastructure in Kanpur in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, where a new 250,000-square-foot facility is being developed alongside its existing 80,000-square-foot plant.
India’s Lohia Aerospace Systems has signed an MoU with Israel-based Massivit to introduce large-format 3D printing technology for composite tooling and critical aerospace components in India, according to a report by Fortune India.
Lohia plans to invest around USD 8-10 million over the next one to two years, with investments scaling in line with market demand.
The investment will support an ongoing expansion of the company’s manufacturing infrastructure in Kanpur in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, where a new 250,000-square-foot facility is being developed alongside its existing 80,000-square-foot plant, according to a report by Business World.
“In a meaningful step forward for advanced manufacturing in India, we are excited to combine Massivit’s pioneering additive manufacturing technology with Lohia Aerospace’s established composite manufacturing and engineering capabilities,” Lohia said in a post on LinkedIn. “This collaboration will enable our partners and customers to benefit from shorter lead times, lower costs, improved quality and faster production scale-up.
Lohia said the platform will enable moulds and production tools to be manufactured in days instead of weeks.
“As demand for indigenous aerospace and defence manufacturing accelerates, RapidWings and its core CIM technology give us the exact edge we need to scale production and expand rapidly, reducing our dependence on imported tooling and shortening delivery timelines for our customers at home and abroad,” said Anurag Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director, Lohia Aerospace Systems.
