Former SK hynix employee jailed for leaking information to Chinese firm
The employee, who formerly worked at SK hynix's office in China, was found to have printed out or took photos of documents containing trade secrets downloaded from the company's internal server, according to Yonhap news agency.
A former employee at SK hynix has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for leaking information on semiconductor manufacturing technology to a Chinese company, Reuters reported, citing the Yonhap news agency.
The Seoul High Court upheld a lower court's sentence during an appeal against the defendant.
Classified information on CMOS image sensors was leaked to a Chinese firm in 2022. The employee, who formerly worked at SK hynix's office in China, was found to have printed out or took photos of documents containing trade secrets downloaded from the company's internal server, according to Yonhap.
The man admitted all of the charges and most of the information he took was retrieved by the company, the Yonhap report said.
