Air Liquide invests $150M in Idaho semiconductor gas plant

France’s Air Liquide has announced an investment of over USD 150 million to build, own and operate a new industrial gas production facility in Idaho to support the site expansion of a global leader in semiconductor memory chips. Building on a renewed partnership, this new investment will support the significant increase of the customer’s production capacity, Air Liquide said. 

Scheduled to begin operations in 2028, Air Liquide’s production unit will deliver large volumes of ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen and argon, essential for manufacturing advanced memory chips.  

This new investment in Idaho builds on Air Liquide’s ongoing expansion of its footprint across US semiconductor hubs, such as Arizona, Indiana, Virginia, Texas and upstate New York.
