Scanfil completes its acquisition of Italy’s MB Elettronica
Finnish EMS provider Scanfil has completed its acquisition of Italian electronics manufacturing company MB Elettronica. The transaction was originally announced in July 2025.
MB Elettronica operates mainly in the Aerospace & Defence, Medtech & Life Science, and Industrial segments. Aerospace & Defence accounted for approximately 40% of the company’s turnover in 2025. MB also has a strong market position in Italy and Southern Europe.
According to MB’s unaudited preliminary financial figures for 2025, the company reported turnover of EUR 120.0 million, compared with EUR 98.4 million in 2024, corresponding to an increase of 21.9%. Comparable EBIT rose to EUR 10.3 million from EUR 6.8 million year on year, while the comparable EBIT margin improved to 8.6% from 6.9%.
“We are very happy to welcome MB Elettronica to Scanfil. MB brings Scanfil new talents and incredible amount of expertise in serving demanding customers in, among others, the fields of Aerospace & Defence and Medtech & Life Science,” Scanfil’s CEO Christophe Sut said in a press release. “The deal creates good growth prospects for both parties, and we are eager to start working together.”
The purchase price corresponds to an enterprise value of a maximum of EUR 123 million, of which EUR 91 million is in connection with completing the transaction. The remaining EUR 32 million will be paid based on MB’s financial performance in 2026 and 2027.
Scanfil stated that the acquisition supports its growth strategy, particularly within the Aerospace & Defence sector, and strengthens its presence in Southern European markets.
