Foxconn not to acquire Dell factory in Poland

The vice governor of Łódź, Marek Cieślak, informed local media that Foxconn will not acquire the factory. (The acquisition deal has been discussed for 16 months.) Dell will stay in Łódź and will continue to operate the manufacturing facility. Furthermore, Dell is said to be in discussion with authorities to open an service centre in Łódź. Mr Cieślak said that the city is willing to support such investment. The new development means no change to employees at the factory - Rafał Branowski, spokesman of Dell in Poland, told Gazeta Wyborcza - and that the location is to be developed further. Investments might also be considered.
