Foxconn with LCD monitor lines at Chongqing
EMS-giant Foxconn is rumoured to set up production lines for LCD monitors in Chongqing City (western China).
The annual production capacity is said to be around 10 million units in 3 years, reports DigiTimes, referencing unnamed industry sources. Foxconn has declined to comment. The Chongqing manufacturing facility was originally designed to produce notebooks. However, the EMS-provider has been moving production lines around China: away from factories in China's coastal regions with increasing wages and labour shortages to other facilities in mainland China.
Foxconn also reported non-consolidated April revenue of NTD 204.94 billion (EUR 4.9 billion).
