LG Electronics files complaint against Sony

South Korean giant LG Electronics claims that rival Sony has broken patents laws in Blu-ray design used in PlayStation3.

The U.S. International Trade Commission is asked to "conduct an investigation under section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended regarding Certain Electronic Devices Having a Blu-Ray Disc Player and Components Thereof. The proposed respondents are: Sony Corporation, Japan; Sony Corporation of America, New York, New York; Sony Electronics, Inc., San Diego, California; Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, Japan; and Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC, Foster City, California". The complaint was filed on February 4, 2011. With it, LG wants to block Sony from selling some high-margin televisions and game consoles in the USA.
