Japanese electronics giant Sony has apparently decided to outsource its high-end LCD HDTV production to Taiwan-based Wistron and Foxconn.

Rumours have it that EMS-provider Foxconn has secured the production of Sony's frameless sets. Wistron on the other hand is to produce the Google TV family, DigiTimes reports. No further details are available. Sony is expected to outsource between 70 - 80% of it LCD TV production next year and Foxconn is likely to receive the majority of Sony's manufacturing orders. (Foxconn already acquired manufacturing assets from Sony in America (Baja California) and Eastern Europe (Slovakia).
