HP to increase outsourcing to Foxconn in 2011
HP is currently finalizing its outsourcing plans of notebooks for 2011.
According to sources in the notebook industry, EMS provider Foxconn will become the second largest notebook producer for HP in 2011.
However, Quanta will still remain the largest notebook supplier for HP in 2011. Next year Quanta will supply 15-17 million units to HP while Foxconn will reach 9-11 million units, reports Digitimes.
Inventec will supply 8-9 million and Flextronics 4-5 million units. Compal and Wistron will only get a small portion.
