Continued strong growth for German PCB market

April turnover for German PCB manufacturers was 7.6% lower than that recorded for March 2010.

However, turnover exceeded that of April 2009 by 45%, reports the ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems. Even the accumulated four-month figure increased 33%, if compared to the corresponding period last year. The number of employees remained unchanged in most companies. However, larger companies did add new personnel so that employment figures have now reached the April 2009 again. Order inflow was 11% lower than in March 2010, but twice as high as that of April 2009. For the 4-month period (January-April), order inflow exceeded last year's figures considerably (+110%). The book-to-bill ratio reached 1.24. The value has been over 1.00 for 10 consecutive months now. In the long-term comparison, this ratio is unusually high for April. This suggests continued growth for this industry segment.
