Briton EMS teams up with Mydata
Bedford (UK) based electronics manufacturer Briton EMS is taking advantage of the MYOptimisation service, an audit by Sweden-based SMT equipment manufacturer Mydata.
"During this period of economic recession Briton EMS has not lost site of its goals. Many businesses have been faced with a period of uncertainty and the electronics manufacturing industry is no exception. When the pressure mounted some businesses may have cut corners to save on cost, but Briton EMS remains focused on growth and improving efficiency throughout", a press release states.
From the information collected in the two day audit, one recommendation related to the better use of the software that had been supplied with the pick-and-place machine.
Manufacturing Director Simon Naylor was pleased with the result, "Implementing this recommendation alone yielded substantial benefits, it has allowed us to reduce changeover times to around one-third of what they were previously. That's given a big boost to machine up time and productivity."
