Giant LCD investment in Poland

LCD display maker LG.Philips LCD plans to invest 429 M Euros in building a back-end LCD module production unit in Wroclaw, Poland.
3 million LCD modules is planned to be produced at the plant. LG.Philips LCD expects to sign an investment agreement with the Polish government. The company plans to establish a subsidiary and start building the plant during 2006. The plant is expected to be ready in the beginning of 2007.

The investment is in line with the trend of TV set manufacturers setting up production plants in Central and Eastern Europe.
